Day 1 – Rescued from this Evil Age ~ Julie Earl
Galatians 1:1-5
1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia:
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Julie’s nugget
Many people believe that Jesus died for our sins only to get us to heaven. That is definitely the biggest perk by far, but verse 4 doesn’t just say we will be rescued when we die. It says we will be rescued from the present evil age.
God wants to rescue us right now from this present evil age we live in! He wants to rescue us from sin, sickness, disease, poverty and all the attacks of the enemy. We have the God of the Universe living inside us, and He aches to be big and powerful through us. He simply asks us to take up the authority He has given us, and step out by faith and defeat the evil swirling around us.
To Ponder
What evil do you need to more fully realize that Jesus has rescued you from?
Sickness? Finances? Relationships? Anger? Hopelessness? Worry?
What can you do to receive the rescue Jesus has offered?
I know that I need to understand more fully my authority over sickness. I want to work harder to get breakthrough by studying folks who have gotten more breakthrough like Andrew Wommack, Bill Johnson and others, and absorb the truths they have absorbed. We can’t give up!
