Day 4 – You Have Been Set Apart ~ Julie Earl

Galatians 1:13-16

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. [Bold lettering mine]

Julie’s Nugget

It’s easy to feel insignificant and unimportant because the devil whispers our unimportance to our thoughts regularly. But the truth is that we are incredibly significant and important. Just as Paul said in verse 15 that he was set apart and called, every person on the planet has been set apart and called to greatness with God.

God has different callings on each of our lives, but He wants each of us to operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and to say yes to everything He asks us to do, whether big or little. He may ask you to go throughout the world and preach the gospel like Paul, or He may ask you to share His love right there in your little town with your neighbors and people you encounter at the grocery store. Both jobs are equally important because both need done.

How Can We Apply This to Our Lives?

The key is to simply say yes and trust God to show you all you have been set apart to do. You don’t have just one purpose in life – you have many. Your main purpose is to love God, and when you truly love Him, you won’t say no to Him. You will listen for His promptings and then risk looking foolish or messing up in order to please the One you love!

God bless you as you trust your life completely to the one who loves you completely,

Julie Earl
