Day 14 – Let Jesus Take Your Curse ~ Dane Earl

Galatians 3:7-14

Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Dane’s Nugget

We as Christians allow the idea of past sins to cloud how we think God sees us. Hebrews 8:12 says,For I will forgive their wickedness, and will remember their sins no more.” God literally does not remember our sins once we have asked Jesus to come in and take over our lives, we become a new creation!

The Problem

Many of us allow the idea of past sins to skew how we believe God sees us. We remind God how cursed we are and the bad things that we have done.

The Solution

Let Jesus take your curse. We have to let go of that curse, and the idea that we are sinful, awful people once we give our life to the lord. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” We are a new creation, so don’t let the idea of your past sins keep you from realizing that God has already taken your curse. Jesus literally can’t see your sins any more!

Things to Remember

-Jesus took your curse
-Jesus can’t see your sins any more, so don’t try to remind him of those sins!
-You are a NEW CREATION – your old ways are not your new ways with Jesus in your life.

Many blessings,

Dane Earl
