Day 17 – More Powerful Than a Sumo Wrestler ~ Julie Earl

Galatians 3:26-29

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Julie’s Nugget

This passage always reminds me of a padded Sumo wrestler suit. Just as you can barely recognize a person inside one of those big, fat suits, you can barely recognize the Christian who is in their Jesus suit. Once we believe in Jesus, we are clothed in Christ, and the Father sees us through His Son. We are no longer divided by our ethnicity, our job or our gender, but we become one in Christ. We all have the same inheritance, blessings and calling!

As a woman, I especially love this truth. God is not limited by our gender no matter how our society views that gender. We can do everything God calls and empowers us to do whether we are a man, woman, boy or girl! We all have on the same suit!

To Ponder

What are some ways you have limited yourself based on your ethnicity, job/financial status, gender or age? If you have, I encourage you to see yourself as God sees you. You are far more powerful than a Sumo wrestler – you are a Kingdom warrior doing battle in the Heavenlies, and bringing power and love wherever you go! Rise up and be the awesome person you have become in Christ!

You are incredible!
