Day 6 – Praising God Because of You ~ Dane Earl

Galatians 1:21-24

21 Then I went to Syria and Cilicia. 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they praised God because of me.

Verse 24 “And they praised God because of me” is one of my biggest hearts desires. I want people to look at my life and see Jesus in it. Why? Because the Christian walk is about love, and love is an action and love is praiseworthy. Praise should never be a motivator for loving someone. Praise is a by-product of genuine love. Praise should be the result of a life surrendered to God – not a consistent effort to get praise from people.

How Can We Apply This to Our Lives?

-Don’t be focused on getting praise from people, but instead focus on having a relationship with Jesus.

-Todd White says something powerful, “If you don’t even like the Jesus inside of you, why would people around  you want what you have.” When we focus on praising God and enjoying the relationship that we have with him, we will be fulfilled whether or not people praise us.

I hope this helps,
Dane Earl
