Day 13 – Why Miracles Haven’t Ceased ~ Julie Earl

Galatians 3:1-6

1You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Julie’s Nugget

Miracles can’t possibly have ceased. Why? According to verse five, receiving God’s Spirit and seeing miracles are a result of believing what we heard about Jesus – and what we heard about Jesus hasn’t changed!  Paul preached the same good new Jesus preached, and we are told by Jesus and Paul to preach that same good news as well. The good news hasn’t gotten “less good” or changed in any way. We can still be saved, healed and delivered!

The Holy Spirit, who lives within us and gives us the gifts, hasn’t changed either. We know this because the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One God in three manifestations. Hebrews 13:8 says that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever,” that means the Holy Spirit is also the same yesterday and today and forever. His power has not diminished in the slightest. He is still capable of not only saving us  from our sins, but saving us from sickness and disease and every evil work of the enemy.

Then why don’t we see more miracles?  The answer is simple. We don’t believe what we heard.

There are often more miracles and healings in other countries because they haven’t been taught this demonically inspired teaching that the  Holy Spirit is no longer able to work miracles or heal through us. This teaching that says the gifts of the Spirit have ceased has done tremendous damage to our ability to believe. It has kept us from receiving the healings and miracles that Jesus paid for when He died on the cross.

“According to your faith, let it be done to you” (Matthey 9:29).

23 “’Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” (Mark 11:23).

8 “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

Prayer

“Lord, you said we would move mountains with our faith. Help us overcome our unbelief so that we might demonstrate Your love, character and gifts wherever we go. You long to be BIG in us! Amen.”
