Day 18 – You Are an Heir (or Heiress) ~ Julie Earl

Galatians 4:1-7

1What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Julie’s Nugget

It’s easy to think of Jesus as an heir of all the power and authority given from God, but we must wrap our minds around the fact that we too have inherited the same power and authority Jesus did. Certainly, Jesus is God – and we aren’t, but He chose to share His inheritance when He came to earth as a man and died in our place so that we could be as righteous and holy as He is in God’s sight.

Yes, we are still getting our sinful flesh to line up with our spirits as it becomes transformed by renewing our minds, but our spirits have been redeemed and have become a completely new creation. You can read more about this in my book No More No in chapter 12 “Know Who You Are and Whose You are.”

If we are going to work powerfully in our Father’s Kingdom on earth, we must know our inheritance – our authority over the devil, sickness, disease and every evil work of the enemy; that our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills and His abundant provision is available for us; and that the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us.

To Pray

“Lord, open our eyes to all You have given us and all You have called us to do during our short time on the earth. The devil constantly tells us we are nothing, but You have promised we can do all things through Your strength. You have given us everything we need for life and godliness. Be BIG through us! Amen.”

You are an heir (or an heiress), so go for it and move in power and love!
