Day 8 – Does Our Lack of Faith Nullify Truth? – Julie Earl

Romans 3:3-4

“What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar.”

If someone doesn’t believe in gravity, does that mean it doesn’t exist? If someone doesn’t believe they need oxygen, does that mean they don’t need it? If someone doesn’t believe in God, does that mean He isn’t real? If someone doesn’t have faith in God’s words and truth, does that make them untrue? Absolutely not.

If someone jumps off a ten-story building or chooses to stop taking in oxygen, truth will prevail. Their lack of faith in these truths won’t nullify the reality of these truths. They will feel the consequences of ignoring truth.

In the same sense, our lack of faith in God as the Creator, Savior and Healer doesn’t nullify the reality of  those truths.

  • Whether we believe it or not, God did create the heavens and the earth, and science and common sense prove that someone much smarter than us designed the universe and everything in it.

  • Whether we believe it or not, there is a place called heaven and a place called hell, and only those who have received Jesus’ forgiveness will be able to spend eternity with a perfect God in heaven because sin can’t survive in God’s presence. We can’t be with our sins and with our God at the same time. Darkness can’t co-exist with Light. (See my book No More No for a more thorough explanation of this truth.) Darkness is destroyed by light, which is why we have to walk in the light as He is in the light, and have the blood of Jesus purify us from all sin (see 1 John 1:7).

  • Whether we believe it or not, God is the Healer and He has given us authority to use that healing power when we have childlike faith to activate that healing. Just because we may not have the faith to believe for healing and miracles doesn’t nullify God’s faithfulness to heal when we simply believe. “He [Jesus] said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering'” (Mark 5:34). “Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you'” (Matthew 9:29). We, too, will see healing according to our faith, so keep growing your faith in your faithful God.

When people mock gravity, oxygen or God…hold on to truth!

God bless you!
