Waiting on God for the Waiter ~ by Julie Earl

cheddarsPlease pray for a young man I’ll call Max. He was our waiter this weekend when my husband, Ron, and I went on a date. I prayed for him every time he came to our table, so at the end of the meal I told him. “I have been praying God would bless you, and I was wondering if you had any specific prayer needs?”

He smiled and said, “My mom does the same thing. She asks me if I need prayer for anything.”

“That’s neat!” I said. He talked about how his mom switched to a church that teaches the Bible, and she is very excited. “Do you have a relationship with God yet?” I asked tenderly.

He smiled a sheepish smile. “No, not really…”

I was able to share how much God loves him, and that when he receives Jesus’ forgiveness for himself, God’s Spirit comes to live inside to give peace, strength, and wisdom as he and God do life together. The restaurant was busy, but he was interested, so we spoke several more minutes. I told him about a Christian college group, and gave him the information as well as my number. He was very appreciative.

Please pray that Max will see how loved he is and that God is passionate about him!

Restaurants are a great place to minister God’s love by waiting on God for your waiter or waitress!
