Be the Difference! ~ by Dane Earl

This is Forest. Doctors say she should not be alive right now.

When my friend Robert and I went to Sonic after The Rise (our college group), I saw Forest sitting there and my heart went out to her. I told her that I felt God’s love over her life and asked if there was anything I could pray for.

She told me that she has an illness, and if it doesn’t get treated it will kill her. In 2000 her insurance provider stopped insuring her, and her body shut down. She told me that she almost died multiple times, but that the kindness of a few people and doctor’s offices kept her alive.

My heart was breaking for her as she told me her story. After she shared her story, I bought her a little food and prayed for her. As I was praying for God’s peace and healing over her, I couldn’t help but tear up because God loves her so much and he doesn’t want her to be in pain.

This encounter with Forest reminded me that there are people going through some crazy stuff, and our acts of kindness inspired by the Holy Spirit inside of us can make a huge difference. I encourage you to go be the difference for others just like Forest!
