Spilled Oats from Heaven ~ by Julie Earl
My husband accidentally knocked over the oats in the pantry, so I swung by Whole Foods after a meeting to buy some more. When I got to the oat aisle, God highlighted with His love a Muslim woman standing there. I didn't want her to think I was talking about Allah, but I didn't want to be disobedient to the prompting, so I said, "Hi! God just highlighted you with His love! He wants you to know how special you are to Him and how much He loves you." I said a few more words of love.
She smiled and responded with enthusiasm and appreciation, so I opened my mouth and asked God to fill it.
"I believe you are going to get to know Jesus and the Bible this year," I said. I shared a few more things and then asked, "Does that make any sense?"
"Actually," she responded with excitement, "I have begun reading the Bible and the Koran with a Christian co-worker and we have been comparing the similarities, and it has been very interesting, but there are questions I still have."
I was not only able to answer her questions, but shared my testimony of how amazing life is with Jesus, and how God has healed me spiritually and even physically. She asked about forgiveness because according to her, Muslims can be forgiven by God when they ask for forgiveness, but if they don't ask forgiveness from people they sin against, then those sins are still held against them.
I told her that when we believe in Jesus and receive His forgiveness, that our past, present and future sins are all forgiven. That as a Christian, we are considered "in Christ" and God sees us as perfect as He sees Jesus. If He didn't see us that way, He wouldn't be able to live inside us because a perfect God can't abide with imperfect man. It is an impossibility. When I shared scriptures about our sins being made "whiter than snow" and Him casting "our sins as far as the east is from the west", she was amazed and said, "Wow, how beautiful!"
After we spoke, she allowed me to pray for her and I gave her more information to look up.
Please keep this precious woman in your prayers. God is passionately in love with her and He wants her to come to know the truth of the Good News found in Jesus!
