The Man in the Bubble ~ by Anonymous

The Man in the Bubble 11-15After reading Julie’s book, and then going to a No More No Support Meeting, I was determined one day to allow God to use me to deliver a gift from the Lord for someone. I went all day without saying more than an, “I’ll pray for you” to a lady with a bad cough at the doctor’s office, but I was intent on not making this a guilt trip, so I thanked the Lord for the awareness I had, the smiles I shared and the ability to pray and talk with Him about others that I passed.

As I drove to my last stop for the day (a time of singing and worship in McKinney), I asked the Lord to give me an opportunity to be bold for Him—to experience sharing with another person something He impressed upon me. I laughed with Jesus when I realized this might be the “chicken” way out, since I would be at a service with Christians, but I knew He was okay with that.

During worship, the Lord did draw my thoughts to a couple in front of me, and as the evening went on, I saw in my mind’s eye a picture of the man inside a giant, clear bubble. He could interact, but he was protected in that bubble, and anything that tried to harm him would just bounce off. I saw him inside the bubble surrounded by the Lord’s love, joy, comfort and security.

I started to become afraid about sharing this picture, but wouldn’t you know that the final song we sang was called “You Make Me Brave.”

When I shared the picture with the man, he and his wife were really blessed and encouraged because the man is dealing with his mother who has alzheimers, and she had been saying some ugly things lately that were painful for him. This picture and this word from the Lord were very meaningful for them, and what a joy for me to be able to deliver this message of love! I was thrilled, and the fun of seeing them encouraged was worth all my efforts to push past my fears and say yes to God’s prompting!
