Terrified Friend Takes the Plunge ~ by Janice Spurgin

“I did it! I did it” read the text last weekend from my longtime friend, Janice Spurgin. “I went up to my first person!”

Janice had loved reading No More No, but had told me several weeks earlier that the thought of saying yes to God’s promptings terrified her. But here she was expressing her excitement that she took the plunge to listen for God’s promptings for a stranger.

“We are on our way to Pagosa Springs, Colorado,” she continued, “so I prayed that God would use me on this trip. I told Him to please help me practice here. I am miles away from home and who cares if it turns out badly. I won’t see these people again. I invited Jesus to not only help me share His love on this vacation, but to just come along and have fun with us like you talk about in No More No.”

Janice went on to tell about her first encounter. “At breakfast today at La Quinta there was a lady whom I felt the Lord wanted me to tell her how much He loves her. When I got up the courage to do it, the lady was really excited. She was a Christian and had just read this morning how much God loves us. She felt this was a sweet confirmation from God that she was important to Him. She said my telling her this blessed her so much! We spoke for about five minutes, and then hugged and went on our way. When I bumped into her later as we checked out, she was still excited and felt so blessed by my words. We exchanged numbers and I told her about your book. I was as blessed as she was…and it was fun!!!!
