Inspiration from the Be Jesus Conference ~ by Kiel and Brooklynne Fogle
We originally signed up to serve at the Be Jesus Conference as greeters, but ended up getting to attend every session. The idea of being the hands, voice, and feet of Jesus was very appealing to us as fellow believers who’ve never publicly gone out with the sole purpose of highlighting a stranger with God’s love.
Dane and Julie both were both so kind and passionate! Anyone could really tell that they’re authentic Christians–the way Jesus intended. Their sessions were fun, informative, inspiring, funny, and motivating. We honestly left each session feeling empowered. They helped use discover our God-given abilities to evangelize and live out our lives with the authority and power of the Holy Spirit that’s been in us for so many years.
Following the second day sessions, we went out in groups into the surrounding community and immediately utilized what CAYM ministries taught us. We focused our spirits on Jesus and tried to listen as we were sitting in a sandwich shop. We went about a normal lunch but with a new awareness of the hurting world around us. We spotted a mom and her daughter sitting together and eating. We felt like we heard God telling us to tell her that she was a great mother and that she is doing so well. We told her God’s love isn’t based on performance but that He still wanted to tell her “well done.” We asked if there was anything we could pray for and she asked us to pray for he family’s financial situation. We did just that. We put behind our fears of being thought of as “weird” or “pushy” and just let love flow. It was welcomed warmly and then we went on our way. We were so happy just to be used by God!
Julie and Dane gave us examples of how they had done similar things to other strangers. We left the conference feeling confident that God can use each of us to show others His love.
